Most of this walk takes us through the Argan woods, an endemic species of tree found only in the south west of Morocco, and a mythical emblem of the region of Essaouira.
The walk is relatively easy, and will be alright for people looking for a leisurely ramble.
Throughout the journey, the guide will talk to you about the ecology of these trees. We can observe the different stages the tree must pass through in its life cycle to achieve maturity; he will explain to you the many different products which are derived from the tree and its fruit, and also the social impact and the benefits of Argan, on the local culture.
We will pass through a little village where we see a Marabou, and a Koranic school, with elements dating back to the 16th century, and later you will be served tea in a village house, where a Berber family will show you traditional Moroccan hospitality.
